Coconut water is the clear liquid found inside young, green coconuts, often enjoyed on an exotic beach with a straw! A more familiar sight to us here in the UK are cartons of the yummy stuff on most of our supermarket shelves.
The naturally occurring liquid contains 94% water and very little fat. As well as this, it’s known to have high levels of potassium, which is essential for heart health and good skeletal and muscular function. It also has less sugar than a lot of soft drinks and juices, making it an excellent lower calorie alternative when you’re feeling thirsty!
