As it is Halloween season we thought we’d tell you all about our spellbindingly dark and delicious smoothie Black Magic!

What makes a Halloween Smoothie?

Black Magic is a bewitching combo of blueberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, banana and cherries. Not only that but we’ve added some extra wizardry in the form of Activated Charcoal!

Why Charcoal?

Activated Charcoal is one of the hot wellness trends as you probably know. If you don’t know what it’s made from, it’s powdered charcoal (the one we use is made from coconut husk) that is heated at a high temperature, then oxidised – a process known as “activation”. This increases its surface area making it porous and able to absorb toxins and chemicals.

So what exactly are its magical properties?

Although it’s black it can whiten your teeth! It absorbs plaque, bacteria and stains from your teeth leaving them bright and sparkly!

It’s like a magic wand for your skin! If your face is feeling congested, spotty or oily try using a charcoal cleanser or mask – it can help detox the skin and reduce oiliness.

If you’ve been bitten by something creepy or crawly then apply it topically to the area to reduce pain and swelling and draw out the poisons!

And of course Activated Charcoal is edible! When ingested it’s a magic method of detoxing. It can reduce bloating, gas and help remove other toxins from the digestive system. This is why we put it in a smoothie!
